Job Summary

Welding Lab Assistant SC1WELDLABTEC (FA26)
Student Worker Eligibility:
Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semesteror 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. If a first semester student GPA requirement is waived.
If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide assistance in the Welding Lab.

  • Maintain the shop lab cleanliness with general clean-up
  • Cut coupons & keep inventory of supplies
  • Do light maintenance such as changing light bulbs check vents etc.
  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • Students must be enrolled in one of the following programs: WELD MANUF ELMEC ELECT AUTO HORT or HVACR program.
      • THIS IS A STUDENT JOB.
      • High school diploma or equivalent.
      • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
      • Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above.
      • If a first semester student GPA requirement is waived.
      • If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.
      • WELD 1100 and MANUF 1151 required.
    • Experience
      • Licenses and Certifications
        • COD Training

          Working Conditions:

        • Must be able to climb a ladder.
        • Must be able to lift 60 lbs. with assistance.
        • This student position requires the following test/tests: Physical.
        • Pay Rate: Student Rate 1 - $15.00 per hour
