Job Summary
Weakley County Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the role of Director for the new childcare facility WeeGrow Academy. The facility is under construction but the Director will have responsibilities prior to its opening.
The academy will operate on a school year schedule. Pay for the Director position will be based on education and experience. Please upload a resume with your application.

Purpose of Job | Weakley County Schools is committed to growing the whole child and ensuring that staff have access to reliable quality childcare for their own children. The WeeGrow Academy Director is the driving force in that effort responsible for the daily operations and management of the program. The director will ensure that the environment meets or exceeds the standards of safety and security as well as education and belonging that are expected at all Weakley County Schools. | ||
Qualifications | Bachelors degree in early childhood or related field plus one year of full-time experience in a group childcare setting; OR 60 semester hours of college including coursework in areas such as business management child development early childhood education or related field plus two years of full-time experience in a group childcare setting; OR High school diploma or equivalent required TECTA 30-hour orientation certificate or TDOE-recognized equivalent plus four years of qualifying full-time experience in a group childcare setting including experience in the business operation of childcare. AND Experience working with infants toddlers preschoolers families and/or childcare staff preferred. | ||
Job Description | Oversee the daily operations of the academy Maintain compliance with WCS and TDOE policies and procedures Ensure supervision and required staffing ratios Hire schedule supervise train and evaluate staff Maintain required child employee health safety attendance and training records Manage enrollment scheduling supplies purchasing and program needs Develop and monitor the program budget and expenditures Prepare for TDOE monitoring visits and other required inspections | ||
Essential Functions or Duties | Maintain consistent predictable attendance and punctuality including participation in required meetings trainings and professional development Perform all duties with integrity professionalism accountability and in compliance with all facility district state and federal laws/policies. Interact professionally and effectively with children parents/guardians coworkers administrators and members of the public. Maintain appropriate confidentiality of children personnel and district information. Follow all safety procedures and report hazards incidents or unsafe conditions in a timely manner. Use district equipment technology and resources appropriately and in support of assigned duties. Perform other duties as assigned. Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities. | ||
Physical Demands | This job may require lifting objects that exceed 20 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows: Pushing and/or pulling Stooping and/or kneeling Reaching Talking Hearing Seeing | ||
