The website coordinator manages and maintains the CEHD websites and provides technical content and user support for the colleges web presence. The position manages multiple WordPress websites develops and maintains web pages and site functionality supports accessibility and usability monitors website performance and provides training and consultation to college stakeholders.

The college website coordinator works closely with the CEHD Public Relations Unit departmental web content liaisons faculty and staff and Georgia State Universitys central web information technology and communications teams. The position serves as a primary web resource for the college coordinates website projects and technical issues and recommends improvements to website content organization functionality and user experience.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

Website Development and Administration

  • Manage maintain and enhance CEHD websites and digital properties using WordPress and related web technologies.

  • Develop and update responsive web pages templates and site functionality to support college priorities and user needs.

  • Configure and maintain website themes plugins and content management system functionality.

  • Troubleshoot website issues and coordinate solutions with university web and technology teams.

  • Conduct quality assurance testing and implement ongoing improvements to website performance usability and functionality.

Web Content and Digital Experience

  • Manage and maintain website content to ensure information is accurate current accessible and user-focused.

  • Partner with departments centers institutes and other stakeholders to publish organize and optimize web content.

  • Maintain clear website navigation structure and content organization to support an effective user experience.

  • Review websites regularly and recommend improvements to content quality organization and engagement.

  • Support the publication and optimization of images video and other digital assets.

Accessibility Search and Website Analytics

  • Ensure websites and digital content comply with accessibility standards including WCAG Section 508 and university requirements.

  • Monitor and improve the accessibility and usability of web content documents and multimedia resources.

  • Apply SEO best practices to increase website visibility and support strategic communications goals.

  • Analyze website performance and user behavior data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Recommend and implement enhancements that improve content effectiveness and user experience.

Training Support and Consultation

  • Provide training and ongoing support to faculty staff and departmental web content liaisons on WordPress and web best practices.

  • Serve as a resource for website-related consultation troubleshooting and content strategy.

  • Develop and maintain web governance documentation guidelines and training materials.

  • Conduct website reviews and consultations to support consistent effective web management across the college.

  • Advise stakeholders on accessibility usability content organization and digital communication best practices.

University and Cross-Unit Collaboration

  • Serve as the colleges primary point of contact for university digital strategy team.

  • Collaborate with campus partners to implement web projects resolve technical issues and support strategic initiatives.

  • Translate business and communication needs into effective web solutions.

  • Coordinate web-related requests and projects through established university processes.

  • Works with the CEHD Public Relations Unit to advance the colleges web and digital communications strategy.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree and two years of related experience or a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Hiring Requirements:

  • Experience managing and developing websites using WordPress or another content management system.

  • Experience with HTML and CSS and familiarity with other web development technologies.

  • Experience managing multiple websites within a large organization higher education institution or similarly complex environment.

  • Experience applying web accessibility standards and best practices including Section 508 and WCAG.

  • Experience with search engine optimization and website analytics tools such as Google Analytics.

  • Experience troubleshooting website functionality and compatibility across browsers and devices.

  • Experience training and supporting users with varying levels of technical expertise.

  • Strong understanding of web usability content organization and website maintenance.

  • Experience working collaboratively with communications information technology or web development teams.

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of current website development content management and accessibility practices.

  • Knowledge of website usability search engine optimization and digital content standards.

  • Ability to manage multiple websites projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Ability to troubleshoot website and content management system issues and identify appropriate solutions.
