Main Purpose of Job
This employee manages the Departments web infrastructure and is charged with ensuring the agencys web presence is up-to-date and secure on a rolling basis. This role is responsible for ensuring DHS customers across the state can access their benefits and learn vital information about services online securely and a team leader they are expected to manage deliverables across the three person Web Team and collaborate with internal and external partners to perform regular technical and content updates. They are also responsible for updating leaders on the Communications Team and in the Office of the Secretary regarding key security and content developments threats and opportunities.
POSITION DUTIES
Communicate and collaborate with the Maryland Benefits Infrastructure team to implement WordPress and WordPress plugin updatesand ensure the website is current and consistently updated. Coordinate with OTHS for device access ticket management and troubleshooting. Serve as main DHS web point of contact for OTHS Maryland Benefits and DoIT. Communicate and collaborate with the Maryland Benefits Infrastructure team to fix errors and optimize our WordPress websites. Analyze and recommend a course of action for WordPress plugins. Weigh security risks and plugin optimization to optimize site security Coordinate the Communications Offices Web Team to ensure deliverables are produced and deadlines are met. Ensure senior leaders are apprised of key challenges and potential solutions. Implement content changes to DHS websites at the request of Maryland Department of Human Services teams LDSS offices and key programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Six years of administrative staff or professional work.

1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
may substitute the possession of a Bachelors degreefrom an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Masters degree froman accredited college or universityfor five years of the requiredexperience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules regulations policy procedures and processes or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicantswho possess the following preferred qualification(s).Include clear and specific information on your application regardingyour qualifications.
One year of experience working with WordPress and Drupal to manage web content.
One year of experience drafting tech-related policy for government agencies.
One year of experience managing website migrations in a government setting.

LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.
