Water Service Maintenance Operator

The City of Chippewa Falls is accepting applications for a full-time Water Service Maintenance Operator. This position operates and maintains the City well fields water distribution system and elevated tanks; performs service hydrant and water main installations; operates backhoe/loader tractor dump truck and other equipment; repairs and services water meters; reads and records registrations of customers meters; assists in cross connection inspection; and is a member of the winter snow and ice removal team.

Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent is required.Associate Degree from a two-year water works course is preferred. Three to five years of Water Works experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Applicant must possess a WI CDL.Eligible applicants should possess or be able to obtain within the required timeframe; WI DNR Grade 1 in subclass Distribution (D) Groundwater (G) Iron Removal (I) and Zeolite Softening (Z) certifications; Confined space education/participation; and Cross Connection survey certification. Applicant must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally and to climb water towers.Workweek will include some weekends and some holidays. Wage is $26.93 $30.26 per hour depending on WDNR certifications and qualifications.
