Key Relationships
The Warehouse Operator interfaces with all levels of the Sycamore Plant organization and works closely with Logistics Customer Service Production Quality and Carriers.
ROLE PURPOSE
The Warehouse Operator is a critical role in our plant operations in Sycamore in this role are responsible for all aspects of the warehousing process fromreceiving and shipping of raw materials and finished goods. Staging raw materials for production. Pulling orders for shipments. Material segregation for hold items.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Carrying out responsibilities/duties according to food safety legal and quality requirements to ensure that our products are fit for human consumption.
- Compliance with procedures that implement the requirements of the EHS policies and procedures.
- Unloading and Loading trucks; verifying materials at time of receipt shipping & staging
- Prepares orders by processing requests and open orders
- Pulling materials and verifying accuracy or orders
- Sort and place materials in rack and bin locations according to organizational standards
- Maintain inventory controls
- Assist in counting physical inventory
- Rotating inventory while following FEFO
- Being responsible for own actions
- Carrying out work in a manner which does not present a risk to themselves others and the environment.
- Comply with all environmental standards procedures and work instructions always.
- Report any environmental violations near misses or unsafe acts to prevent any impact upon the local environment its inhabitants and Tate & Lyle.
- Reporting all incidents defects hazards and inadequacies of procedures so that appropriate review and corrective action can be taken.
- Suggesting improvements and being active in the general improvement of all systems and methods of work to ensure EHSQS Supports activities and services are carried out in a safe environmentally responsible reliable and cost-effective manner.
- Fully participate in the safety program including reporting any incidents or near misses training auditing etc.
- Meeting and exceeding clear housekeeping/GMP standards and food safety protocols.
- Moving packing and sorting raw materials or finished product packaging.
- Other duties as assigned.

Warehouse operators additional EHSQ authority index responsibilities include:
- Supporting T&Ls environmental health safety and quality policy in the execution of their job responsibilities in routine non-routine and emergency conditions.
- Notifying their supervisor or EHSQ committee member of any spills equipment malfunctions environmental conditions or management practice that could represent an existing or potential safety hazard food safety concern or significant environmental impact.
- Notifying their supervisor or EHSQ committee member of any conditions or practices that could represent nonconformance with the requirements of the EHSQMS or its supporting plans and procedures.
- Performance of the environmental health and safety monitoring and inspections according to their job responsibilities and submittal of required records.
- Support lock tag try confined space hot work and work permits.
- Understand the LSPs and PPPs and how they apply to T&Ls work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Highschool diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout a 10-hour workday.
- Must be able to climb stairs repeatedly.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to bend and squat.
- Must be able to effectively operate a sit down and reach lift.
- Must be able to manipulate bags weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
EXPERIENCE
- Prior experience working in a warehousing environment is preferred but not a requirement for entry role.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE
- The ability to think critically about processes flow and troubleshooting.
- Eager to advance and learn new roles.

- Able to work a varying schedule if needed as process upsets and area issues arise
