MITEL PBX Telecom Product Owner

Contractor to support continuity and modernization efforts within its telecom environment. This role is critical in mitigating the risk associated with the retirement of a long-tenured telecom expert and ensuring stability knowledge transfer and forward-looking improvements across the organizations communication systems.

Mandatory: MITEL PBX Telecom Product Owner

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Product Owner for telecom services ensuring alignment with business and operational needs
• Lead and support telecom modernization initiatives including migration and optimization efforts
• Triage troubleshoot and resolve complex telecom issues across platforms and environments
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency reliability and user experience
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT infrastructure security vendors) to deliver telecom solutions
• Document systems processes and institutional knowledge to ensure continuity
• Provide hands-on technical support when needed in critical situations.
• Required Experience & Skills
• Proven expertise in:
  • Microsoft Teams Phone migrations
  • Amazon Connect (AWS Connect)
  • Analog gateways and legacy telephony integration
• Strong experience with Mitel PBX environments (required)
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex telecom issues in enterprise environments
• Experience modernizing telecom systems and improving operational processes
• Strong understanding of hybrid telecom ecosystems (cloud on-prem)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in higher education or large decentralized organizations
• Familiarity with telecom compliance security and governance best practices
• Prior experience in Product Owner or similar leadership roles within telecom or unified communications
