Job Summary
This position will be filled on the Sequoia National Forest with a duty station of Kernville California.
This position is responsible for the front desk operations which include the sale of passes and permits oversight and collection of monies from visitors.

- Supervises 20% or less of assigned duties.
- Duties described are at the target grade GS-06.
- Responsible for inventory and control of various merchandise that is located in the visitor center.
- Troubleshoots and resolves any problems associated with the visitor centers personnel equipment or sales.
- Coordinates and directs the daily operations for information centers including the handling of daily receipts sales and personnel.
- Ensures the visitor centers are maintained in accordance with established standards.
- Manages multiple visitor information centers and plans organizes and completes recreation information to be responsive to the public needs for all sites.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Males born aftermust be registered for Selective Service or exempt.
- Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.

Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-6 level: Applicants musthave one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as one or more the following:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.
There is no substitution of education for experience.
