Foundation Engineering M&A Integration
The Foundation Engineering M&A Integration sits at the intersection of corporate strategy technology execution risk management and business transformation. As a Vice President in Foundation Engineering M&A Integration you will help ensure acquisitions are integrated securely efficiently and thoughtfully while preserving innovation where it creates strategic value for Goldman Sachs.
Responsibilities And Qualifications:
Goldman Sachs is seeking an accomplished Vice President - Technology M&A Integration Specialist to lead technology integration for acquired businesses from transaction signing through close Day 1 readiness stabilization and longer-term platform convergence.
In this role you will act as a strategic integrator across acquired companies Goldman Sachs business lines Engineering Cybersecurity Technology Risk Infrastructure Corporate Workplace Solutions and other firmwide control functions. You will lead post-signing technology due diligence develop integration roadmaps and drive execution across people platforms data controls infrastructure and end-user technology.
The role requires disciplined execution sound risk judgment strong technical breadth and executive presence. It also requires a best-of-breed mindset: evaluating acquired technology capabilities and advocating for retention integration or broader adoption where platforms tools architectures or operating practices create demonstrable value for Goldman Sachs.
Key Responsibilities:
Technology Due Diligence
Assess acquired-company technology estates including infrastructure cloud environments applications licensing data stores identity models security controls engineering practices vendor contracts and operating models.
Identify technology risks control gaps technical debt integration dependencies third-party exposures and operational constraints.
Translate diligence findings into actionable priorities mitigation plans investment needs and executive decisions.
Partner with Legal Compliance Risk Finance Procurement and business leadership to address contractual regulatory privacy data-residency and operational requirements.
Integration Execution
Lead end-to-end technology integration workstreams across diligence transition planning Day 1 readiness stabilization and platform convergence.
Develop and manage integrated delivery plans milestones dependencies risks issues decision logs governance forums and executive reporting for multiple concurrent acquisitions.
Coordinate integration across identity and access data migration and retention collaboration tools SaaS applications end-user computing workplace technology infrastructure cloud cybersecurity privacy resilience and control remediation.
Define transition-state architectures and sequencing plans that balance business continuity speed cost security regulatory obligations and user experience.
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
Build trusted relationships with acquired-company executives technology leaders product owners business sponsors and Goldman Sachs functional partners.
Lead cross-functional working groups across a complex global matrix and align stakeholders with different priorities delivery models and risk tolerances.
Influence senior stakeholders without direct authority driving timely decisions clear ownership and accountable execution.
Communicate complex technical and operational issues clearly for executive business engineering risk and operational audiences.
Escalate material risks and critical-path dependencies with clear options and recommended actions.
Strategic Process Optimization and Innovation
Analyze recurring integration patterns to identify causes of delay cost risk or inconsistent user experience.
Improve the scalability speed predictability and control effectiveness of the M&A technology integration lifecycle.
Enhance integration playbooks diligence frameworks workstream templates governance standards performance metrics and knowledge-management practices.
Introduce data-driven measures of progress including migration readiness control remediation legacy-system retirement user adoption and realized technology synergies.
Evaluate acquired technology stacks engineering practices operating models and vendor ecosystems to identify differentiated capabilities that may benefit Goldman Sachs.
Build evidence-based business cases for retaining integrating scaling or selectively adopting high-value platforms tools architectures and practices.
Basic Qualifications:
10 years of relevant experience in technology program management enterprise systems integration technology consulting corporate development technology or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience leading technology workstreams for mergers acquisitions divestitures carve-outs or major business transformations.
Experience delivering large-scale multi-workstream programs involving senior stakeholders competing priorities and material operational risk.
Strong working knowledge of enterprise technology domains including cloud and on-premises infrastructure enterprise applications and SaaS governance data migration identity and access management collaboration platforms end-user computing cybersecurity resilience and vendor management.
Ability to assess technology architectures integration dependencies technical debt control maturity and operational support models.
Familiarity with technology due diligence migration planning systems rationalization post-merger integration governance and transition-state architecture.
Strong judgment and problem-solving skills including the ability to balance speed cost control user experience and long-term strategic value.
Exceptional verbal written and presentation skills with the ability to tailor communications for technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to build credibility influence decisions and drive execution across teams without direct reporting lines.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced transaction-driven environment manage multiple priorities and work across global time zones as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science Engineering Business or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certification is advantageous.
Experience in a global investment bank financial institution management consultancy or large-scale enterprise transformation environment.
Certifications in program management cloud cybersecurity enterprise architecture IT service management or agile delivery.
Experience with integration management offices transaction-management offices technology operating-model design or enterprise architecture governance.
