Vice President – Direct Originations

Altius Search Group is recruiting an experienced equipment finance originator on behalf of a well-established and growing equipment finance company.

The Vice President Direct Originations will be responsible for developing new equipment finance relationships directly with middle-market and larger commercial businesses. The successful candidate will identify capital equipment requirements develop relationships with senior financial decision-makers and structure financing solutions that support each clients operational and strategic objectives.

This is a true new-business-development role for an established originator who can independently build a pipeline open new relationships and manage opportunities from initial prospecting through credit approval documentation and funding.

• Develop new equipment finance business directly with middle-market large corporate private equity-sponsored and other commercial clients.

• Build and manage an active pipeline through targeted prospecting referrals existing industry relationships and strategic business-development initiatives.

• Establish relationships with CFOs treasurers controllers procurement leaders operating executives private equity sponsors and other senior decision-makers.

• Identify upcoming capital expenditures technology investments facility expansions automation projects and equipment replacement requirements.

• Structure equipment loans leases and customized financing solutions based on each clients financial objectives and operational needs.

• Prepare and present financing proposals that clearly communicate the proposed structure pricing and overall value to the client.

• Work closely with credit operations documentation asset management and senior leadership to move transactions efficiently from the initial opportunity through funding.

• Gather the financial operational and transaction information required to develop complete and compelling credit presentations.

• Maintain ownership of the client relationship throughout the transaction process and provide consistent communication to all stakeholders.

• Expand existing relationships by identifying additional equipment categories locations business units and financing requirements.

• Maintain accurate pipeline reporting production forecasts calling activity and account-development plans.

• Represent the company professionally at client meetings industry events conferences and other business-development activities.

The originator will have the flexibility to pursue opportunities across a variety of equipment-intensive industries potentially including:

• Manufacturing and industrial equipment

• Technology and information systems

• Data centers and AI infrastructure

• Distribution and warehouse automation

• Healthcare and patient-care technology

• Construction and commercial equipment

• Education

• Transportation

• Private equity-sponsored portfolio companies

• Established experience originating equipment finance transactions directly with commercial end users.

• Demonstrated ability to independently generate new business and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities.

• Existing relationships with middle-market companies larger corporate borrowers private equity sponsors or senior financial decision-makers.

• Proven record of producing meaningful annual equipment finance volume.

• Strong understanding of equipment loans finance leases tax leases and other commercial financing structures.

• Ability to evaluate financial statements and understand cash flow leverage liquidity collateral and the business purpose behind a transaction.

• Experience structuring and presenting transactions to credit and senior management.

• Ability to sell consultatively and communicate value beyond pricing alone.

• Strong executive presence communication skills judgment and follow-through.

• Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

• Willingness to travel as necessary for client development and relationship management.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced direct originator with a portable network of commercial relationships and a history of generating consistent equipment finance production.

The individual should be entrepreneurial and self-directed while also working effectively with internal credit documentation and operational partners. Candidates should understand how to develop business directly with middle-market and larger companies rather than relying primarily on broker vendor or bank-referral channels.
