Available Schedule
We are currently hiring a full-time ICU Veterinary Technician / Assistant to join our overnight team:
Friday Sunday 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
This position includes an overnight shift premium.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
As a member of our ICU team youll work alongside our doctors and support staff to provide attentive high-level care to hospitalized and critically ill patients. Responsibilities may include:
- Monitoring critical and hospitalized patients and identifying changes in patient status
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
- Medication administration via IV IM SQ and other appropriate routes
- Venipuncture IV catheter placement and sample collection
- Assisting with advanced critical care procedures
- Monitoring anesthesia and recovering patients
- Performing diagnostic testing including chemistries CBCs urinalysis and fecal testing
- Collecting and appropriately handling blood urine and other diagnostic samples
- Maintaining detailed and accurate documentation of treatments patient status and changes in overall health
- Working closely with the medical team to prioritize patient needs and respond to changes quickly
- Maintaining a clean organized and well-stocked ICU
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
This is an advanced clinical role supporting critically ill and hospitalized patients. Were looking for someone who is confident in their foundational skills and ready to continue developing in a specialty environment.
- 3 years of clinical experience in a veterinary hospital
- Advanced technical skills including phlebotomy anesthesia monitoring and critical patient care
- Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment
- High attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients and responsibilities
- Basic computer skills and accurate medical record documentation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine desire to learn and continue developing your technical abilities
- Ability to remain focused and compassionate in a fast-paced critical care environment
