Veterinary Technician

Location: Saugus MA
Pay:$26$29/hour
Schedule: Full-time Four 10-hour shifts OR five 8-hour shifts One Saturday per month
Credentialing: CVT LVT or RVT preferred

Saugus Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our three-doctor practice in Saugus MA. Were looking for someone who enjoys hands-on patient care works well with a team and wants to continue building their clinical skills in a supportive hospital environment.

Our team takes a thoughtful approach to patient care including Fear Free handling techniques and strong communication with pet owners. Youll work alongside experienced doctors and veterinary professionals while playing an important role in the day-to-day care of our patients.

• Assist veterinarians with appointments treatments procedures and patient care

• Monitor patients during anesthesia and assist with surgical procedures

• Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture

• Obtain and process laboratory samples

• Take diagnostic radiographs and perform ECGs when needed

• Provide nursing care and monitor patients throughout their hospital stay

• Review medications treatment plans and discharge instructions with clients

• Keep patient records accurate and up to date

• Help keep appointments and hospital workflows running efficiently

• Continue developing your technical skills through training and continuing education

• Veterinary Technician experience; credentialed technicians are preferred

• CVT LVT or RVT credentials are a plus

• Experience in general practice urgent care or specialty medicine

• Comfortable with anesthesia monitoring venipuncture IV catheter placement and surgical support

• Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized in a busy hospital
