Job Summary

Veterinary Medical Director Palmdale CA

A growing veterinary practice is seeking an experienced veterinarian to take on a clinical leadership role while continuing to provide high-quality patient care. This is an excellent opportunity for a doctor who enjoys mentoring others shaping medical standards and contributing to the overall growth and success of a veterinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality medical surgical diagnostic and preventive care to veterinary patients.
  • Serve as a clinical leader and help establish and maintain high standards of medical care.
  • Mentor coach and support associate veterinarians and veterinary team members.
  • Promote a collaborative and positive hospital culture.
  • Review cases and medical records while identifying opportunities to improve patient outcomes and clinical standards.
  • Work closely with practice leadership to improve workflows scheduling team development and overall hospital performance.
  • Support recruitment onboarding and professional development of veterinary team members.
  • Assist with compliance equipment management controlled substance protocols and other clinical responsibilities as needed.
  • Maintain an active clinical caseload while balancing leadership responsibilities.
  • Participate in continuing education team meetings community outreach and other professional development initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active veterinary license or eligibility for licensure in the state of practice.
  • DEA registration and other required credentials as applicable.
  • Several years of clinical veterinary experience preferred.
  • Previous leadership mentoring or team development experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication organization and decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to compassionate client-focused veterinary care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and positively with doctors technicians and support staff.
