Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable motivated Veterinary Assistant who thrives in a structured fast-paced environment. This role requires strong attention to detail the ability to multitask and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and hospital cleanliness.
The ideal candidate is team-oriented proactive and able to follow through on responsibilities with consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams treatments and procedures.
- Safely and effectively restrain animals for examinations and treatments.
- Perform venipuncture and assist with placement of IV catheters (preferred but not required).
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms and treatment areas.
- Clean and disinfect kennels equipment and hospital areas consistently throughout the day.
- Monitor hospitalized patients and report any changes promptly.
- Support daily patient care including feeding walking and maintaining comfort.
- Accurately follow treatment plans and ensure tasks are completed fully.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with workflow using hospital systems.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and clients.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a veterinary hospital or animal care setting preferred.
- Basic knowledge of animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Experience with venipuncture and IV catheter placement is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
