Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints weld symbols isometric drawings and fabrication layouts.
- Lay out fit and fabricate vessel components and pipe in preparation for welding and installation.
- Operate welding equipment and related fabrication tools efficiently and safely.
- Use thermal cutting equipment such as oxy-fuel torch and plasma arc equipment.
- Connect hoses and regulators for oxygen and fuel gas systems safely.
- Climb ladders and work from scaffolds when required.
- Report discrepancies and safety concerns to the shop foreman immediately.
- Maintain compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
- Must be able to pass a 1G Welding Test.
- Proven experience welding vessels to code.
- Ability to read and build vessels from detailed print layouts.
- Strong knowledge of AWS API ANSI and ASME codes and standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to identify defects and non-conformance issues.
- Commitment to safety quality and teamwork.
