Job Summary

Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC a world-class supplier of power generation services parts and repairs has an immediate opening for a qualified individual who has a desire to join a growing organization and an appetite for diverse and technically challenging work.

The San Antonio Service Center is seeking an experienced Night Shift Vacuum Furnace Operator to operate monitor and maintain vacuum heat-treating furnaces used to process metal components. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with vacuum furnace systems heat treatment processes quality standards and safety procedures. This position requires working independently during night shifts while ensuring production schedules product quality and equipment reliability are maintained.


Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Operate vacuum furnaces in accordance with job routers work instructions and technique sheets.
  • Load and unload materials parts and components safely and efficiently.
  • Set up and run furnace programs recipes temperatures pressures and cycle parameters.
  • Monitor furnace performance throughout heat-treating cycles.
  • Maintain accurate production quality and process documentation in compliance with engineering and ISO procedures.
  • Verify compliance with customer specifications and heat-treatment requirements.
  • Conduct daily and routine inspections of furnace equipment pumps cooling systems and instrumentation.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and escalate major concerns to maintenance.
  • Perform visual inspections and other quality checks as required.
  • Follow all safety environmental and operational procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Coordinate shift handoffs and communicate production status to incoming operators.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities and calibration efforts.
  • Other related duties as assigned by management.


Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of experience operating vacuum furnaces
  • Knowledge of vacuum heat treatment processes including hardening tempering annealing quenching brazing and burnouts
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Basic understanding of metallurgy and heat-treatment principles.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during night shifts.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook Excel); good oral and written communication skills.
Salary Description
$21.00 - $29.00 (DOE)
