USPS CONTRACT TRAININGINSTRUCTOR

FUNCTIONALPURPOSE:

Servesasaninstructorina classroomlaboratoryand/orvirtualsetting.

DUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves asaninstructor inthe delivery ofPostal training courses overseeing the training activities of course participants inclassroom laboratory virtual andfield environments.
  • Usestraining equipment supplies facilityandfiscalresources inimplementing and delivering approved training programs for course participants.
  • Managestrainingactivitiestoensurecourseobjectivesaremetduringtheprescribedtimeperiod.
  • Serves asasubject matter expert inthedesign andmaintenance oftraining courses andmaterials incoordination withtraining development specialists. Assists withthe development of newtraining and materials and the revision of existing training programs.
  • Maintains and develops the knowledge bases required for delivering training by reviewing reference materials suchasstandard operatingprocedures (SOPs) vendor-based documentation and training materials manuals handbooks bulletins and trade periodicals; attending training sessions and seminars; and visiting field locations.
  • Prepares fortraining delivery bygathering andpreparing materials including maintaining equipment and submitting requisitions for parts services supplies and equipment.
  • Evaluate anddocumentstudentperformanceandcomprehensionofcoursematerials.
  • Identifiesstudentlearningobstaclesanddevelopsactionplansforresolution.
  • Ensures thesafety andwell-being of staffandstudentsby ensuring prescribed safety procedures and practices.
  • May provide guidance andtraining tonew instructors inthe useofeffective instructional techniques. May conduct peer reviews of instructors.

Job Requirements

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledgeofprinciplesmethodsandpracticesofadulteducationandtraining.
  • Ability tomaintain asafe working environment byfollowingestablished workingprocesses and procedures.
  • Ability tocondense andsimplify complex information andcommunicate clearoral andwritteninstructions.
  • Abilitytoinstructadultswithvariedbackgroundsandlevelsof experienceincomplexsubjects.
  • Ability toplanandschedule activities manage time andmeet deadlines sufficient to manage aclassroom.
  • Abilitytocounselothers toimproveindividualperformance.
  • Skillinusing wordprocessing spreadsheets andpresentation softwaretocreate documents reports and presentations.
  • Ability tostimulateinteractive discussion andcreate anengaging environment sufficient tofacilitatelearning.
  • Knowledge and experience of electrical & mechanical equipment to include motor controls and be able to perform maintenance troubleshooting and understanding schematics.

This position requires that you gain and maintain a USPS Sensitive Clearance.

This position is dependent upon you maintaining access to the USPS facility.

As a non-exempt employee working on a federal contract this position is subject to the Service Contract Act (SCA) Wage Determination (WD) No. Revision No. 22. Health & Welfare Benefits paid leave accrual and sick leave accrual will be offered in accordance with SCA.
