USA Assistant Swim Coach

Primary Responsibilities:

• Performing as assistant coach for USA and Age Group swim teams and providing general oversight and coordination of practices and meets.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Act as an assistant coach for aquatic center-sponsored teams
• Act as an instructor for the instructional program as scheduled
• Assist in the management of all hosted meets
• Assist in the evaluation of volunteer coaches
• Supervise locker rooms before and after practices
• Coordinate practices meet lineups and provide instruction for assigned age groups/teams
• Coordinate and/or assist in the running of all competitive events
• Coordinate and/or assist in running all competitive swim instruction programming
• Is responsible for the upkeep of instructional and competitive equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications:

• Some work experience in the field is beneficial
• Ability to secure all required USA Swimming credentials
• Current lifeguard and CPR certification
• Demonstrated ability to work well and communicate effectively with students staff public and other administrators
• Ability to project a positive and professional outlook manner and appearance
• Ability to demonstrate mature judgment reliability availability and ethical behavior including punctuality confidentiality and the ability to function effectively in a multitasking environment
• Demonstrate the ability to give direction provide leadership and evaluate the performance of others

Preferred Qualifications:

• Three or more years of experience teaching swimming with demonstrated effectiveness in helping athletes achieve superior performance and improvement
