Job Summary
SP Industries Inc.is hiring for our team in Vineland NJ and has an immediate opening for an Upright Shrink Operator. The hours for this position are Monday- Thursday on 1st Shift - 4/10s schedule.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform a wide variety of duties involving the preparation activities to shrink Pyrex Quartz and other types of glass
- Perform shrink preparation operations on parts to meet customer and/or internal company prints and specifications
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications that are written in English
- Use a variety of measuring instruments to ensure parts meet quality levels
- Execute sustained production in shrink preparation department
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Assist the lead in managing the supply of replacement parts supervisor when the need arises for replacement parts tools and/or supplies
- Must observe all precautions rules and regulations related to environmental health and safety matters (i.e. PPE properly deposing of wastes etc.).
- Maintain quality and production standards
- Understand BOMs and routers
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-5 years of glass experience
- Appropriate hand and eye coordination
- Ability to read blueprints
- Basic 5S concepts
- Prior experience working in a team oriented environment
- Proficient in math
- Ability to read and speak English
- Light travel to alternative location (Buena NJ) as needed
- High School diploma or GED
Payrate : $22-$26/hr

- Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods
- Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts
- Report defect in any equipment or protective device
- Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks
- Attend all required health safety and environmental training
- Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor
- Assist in investigating accidents/incidents
- Refrain from engaging in any prank contest feat of strength unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct
