Job Summary
Mercy Medical Center Redding offers comprehensive health care to nearly 300000 residents in a six-county region. It is one of only two Level II trauma centers the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the only Joint Commission-certified Advanced Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center north of Sacramento north of Sacramento. As our Unit Aide you will provide essential non-clinical support and comfort to patients and staff assisting other members of the healthcare team with providing basic patient care under the direction of a Staff Nurse.
Every day you will support daily unit operations by assisting with patient comfort needs transporting patients performing light cleaning stocking supplies and relaying messages to nurses to ensure an organized environment.

- Performs basic patient care under the direction of the RN which includes assisting with patient ADL routine measurement of intake and output and obtaining vital signs
- Completes appropriate documentation which includes patient records ensuring it is completed according to hospital policy
- Assumes responsibility for professional growth by taking advantage of the available opportunities
- Participates in peer review and staff development which includes unit and quality process improvement activities
- Actively advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflict. Seeks counsel for resolution of conflict
- Communicates as appropriate with other members of the healthcare team
- Previous experience as a Unit Coordinator or six months of previous experience as a Monitor Tech orequivalent level of experience in an acute case facility
- Basic Cardiac Dysrhythmia
- Basic Life Support - BLS through an American Heart Association provider
Preferred
- Two years of college and over two years experience as a Unit Coordinator II/Tech Monitor Tech
- Two years experience equivalent level in an acute care facility
