Undergraduate Summer Internship MayAugust
The Undergraduate Engineering Intern contributes to technical projects and daily operations through design support analysis documentation testing and project coordination. FLS Summer Internships program offers hands-on training with field experts and a Professional Development Program designed to help you develop skills that you can take back to the classroom and into your career.
Based on business needs and candidate interests internship opportunities may exist within engineering manufacturing operations quality project or technical-support teams.
Support technical design and documentation including CAD models drawings bills of materials work instructions job routings and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) as applicable.
Collect and analyze data review test results identify trends prepare reports and help validate product or process improvements.
Assist engineering laboratories manufacturing and shop-floor teams with testing production support time studies process mapping project tracking and issue resolution.
Contribute to quality safety root-cause problem solving LEAN process standardization and continuous-improvement activities.
Help ensure work meets engineering standards and applicable customer contract quality schedule and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with engineering operations quality materials project management sales suppliers and other partners while providing responsive customer-focused support.
Apply SQDCG principlesSafety Quality Delivery Cost and Growthand complete assigned work accurately safely and on time.
Currently pursuing an undergraduate Bachelors degree in Mechanical Industrial Manufacturing Mechatronics Engineering Technology or another related engineering discipline and in good academic standing.
Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Must be an undergraduate student starting junior or senior year in the Fall following the internship.
Available for a Summer internship from May through August.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office especially Excel and the ability to organize analyze and clearly present information.
Strong problem-solving analytical communication interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working in a hands-on fast-paced team-oriented environment that may include office laboratory and manufacturing settings.
Exposure to CAD/CAM tools engineering drawings or SolidWorks
Prior industrial manufacturing laboratory project leadership or internship experience.
A meaningful assignment aligned with business needs your academic background and your development goals.
Hands-on learning regular feedback and collaboration with professionals across technical and business functions.

The pay for this role is $25 per hour.
