Summary:

The Ultrasound Technologist assures that a written physician order is received prior to an exam performance and collects pertinent information. This position reviews exams on Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) checking for quality and completeness and completes paperwork and distributes exams for interpretation. The Ultrasound Technologist efficiently performs all tasks within their designated room and demonstrates regard for patients safety and comfort.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Performs general or vascular ultrasound exams.

  • Assures that a written physician order is received prior to an exam procedure and collects pertinent information prior to the ultrasound procedure.

  • Reviews exams on Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) checking for quality and completeness. Completes proper paperwork and distributes exams for interpretation.

  • Efficiently performs all tasks within their designated room including cleaning and stocking their room cleaning the machine and filter and deleting exams off the machine daily.

  • Demonstrates regard for patients safety and comfort during transportation immobilization and positioning of patient.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

Certification:
  • Sonographer North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners Prior to Start Date HR Primary Sources

  • Sonographer American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Within 24 Months of Start Date HR Primary Sources

  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Within 24 Months of Start Date HR Primary Sources

  • Sonographer American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Within 24 Months of Start HR Primary Sources

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA) Within 90 days of Start Date Learning Management System

Notes:
  • Must be a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Sonographer ARRT

  • Temporary ND license accepted prior to start

Work Experience:

Preferred: A minimum of 1 year Related Experience

Language Requirements:

This position requires proficiency in reading writing and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients families and team members.
