Responsibilities:
- Performs ultrasound techniques and examination; including but not limited to abdominal OB/GYN and small parts by selecting proper technical factors on individual patient basis and observes patient during procedure to ensure patients safety and comfort. Transports patient to and from exam room/table prepares and maintains room. Acquires digital images and evaluates for technical quality. Assists physician in diagnostic procedures and with administering medications.
- Assists in coordination of daily workflow for the departments activities.
- Maintains equipment in efficient operating order. Performs and documents all required quality control testing. Contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed.
- Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictates.
- Participates in orientation training and in-servicing of staff as needed.
- Maintains an orderly clean and safe environment of patients and staff in assigned area. Maintains stock and inventory as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Other / Certificate Graduation from an accredited program for diagnostic medical sonography Preferred
- Associates Preferred
- Other >10 months clinical ultrasound experience Required
- Sonography Principles & Instrumentation - Certificate American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) eligible. Includes passing SPI exam (Sonography Principles and Instrumentation Exam) Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Current and valid Basic Life Support Certification at the time of hire Required
- Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - License or RVT credentialed. This includes passing one of the following exams: Abdomen Breast Obstetrics and Gynecology Pediatric Sonography Vascular Technology 1 Year Required
- Two (2) or more ARDMS specialty credentials. Preferred
