Position Overview

The Field Services Senior Project Manager works under the direction of an Account Manager to deliver exceptional results on complex large-sized client projects. This role has accountability for team management project planning budgeting scheduling resourcing as well as meeting client specifications safely and with quality. This is a mid-level leadership role and individuals are expected to have a high degree of demonstrated leadership and technical competence.

Job Duties

Plan organize and execute projects to meet client scope while staying within budget quality and time constraints. The complexity and size of projects are medium to high/large.
Deliver client outcomes by attending meetings capturing action items following up on project issues facilitating change management organizing and updating project deliverables and reporting.
Directly supervises the activities of Project Supervisors and/or Project Coordinators.
Serve as a single point of contact to clients on project deliverables.
Collaborate with field operations other managers and support staff to deliver successful projects.
Actively troubleshoot and resolve large complex issues.
Begin to be responsible for the projects financial success and development of recovery plans as required.
Accountable for timely client billing and invoice approvals.
Lead the hiring selection and onboarding of new team members.
Lead employee evaluations wage changes promotions terminations and general career development for project team members.
Investigate and resolve employee concerns; involving Talent Management and/or HR support partners when necessary.
Participate in budget proposal and bid development.
Provide daily on-site field support to a team by addressing and resolving day-to-day issues and problems.
Serve as a front-line coach for the team by providing on-the-job training skill development and ongoing performance feedback.
Responsible for teams time and attendance hours reporting and accuracy.
Responsible for the teams performance and development.
Responsible for the teams goal setting safety quality and time management.
Provides production reports and forecasts on estimated project dates.
Partner with the Safety Team to conduct required safety programs and investigations. Submit required documentation.
Monitor and enforce housing conditions for direct reports.
Fulfill weekly production targets as a team to meet client expectations and budget.
Positively and effectively communicate with property owners and agencies to arrange for necessary access and work.
Drive operate and maintain a company vehicle in a variety of terrains and surfaces (including ATVs).
Read and follow maps; navigate through a variety of terrains and in all types of weather using a GPS map compass or other methods either by walking or driving.
Recognize unacceptable safety risk conditions and hazards related to the work environment federal standards and client specifications.
Review and/or correct data integrity errors within the GIS Database.
Comply with all safety regulations and meet safety requirements in order to complete work safely.
Complete Quality Assurance: field verify that initial data collection was accurate to project specifications.
Execute necessary change management activities with their team.
Understand and ensure proper use of document management systems data privacy requirements and document sharing procedures.
Perform field audits of existing utility infrastructure by visually identifying inspecting and recording information.
Operate hand-held computers GPS units cameras and/or other field technology.
Accurately record field observations.
Perform light maintenance on utility infrastructure utilizing hand tools.
Use a fiberglass measuring stick to accurately measure heights on utility poles.

Qualifications

Required: High-school diploma with a minimum of 4 years relevant utility infrastructure experience.
Required: Demonstrated ability to lead motivate influence and direct team members. Exhibits a growth mindset and a willingness to further develop in a leadership role.
Required: Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work with limited direct supervision.
Required: Understanding of operations processes and standards in the utility industry or related field.
Required: Understanding of contracts.
Required: Minimum 2 years of experience in project planning or construction management.
Required: Obtain and maintain professional certificates and licenses commensurate with project requirements.
Required: Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze problems identify alternative solutions anticipate consequences and implement resources.
Required: Electric hazard identification electric equipment identification and communication equipment identification capability.
Required: Demonstrated proficiency in basic office applications and data entry. Must be willing to learn mapping collection software applications.
Required: Exemplary communication skills including written and verbal. Ability to write instructions correspondence and memos. Ability to draft intelligible professional and accurate correspondence. Effectively and clearly communicate and present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers clients and other employees.
Required: Perform basic arithmetic computations.
Required: Apply understanding to carry out detailed instructions. Identify address and resolve problems in varied situations.
Required: Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Required: Valid drivers license along with a clean Motor Vehicle Report. Must attend and pass the Davey Drivers Safety Course.
Preferred: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
Preferred: 5 years prior utility mapping experience including both Joint Use Audits and Inventory/Verifications.
Preferred: 3 years of experience in project management project planning or construction management.
