Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an ITS QPL48 Management Lead to support the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) program.

This position will lead the evaluation approval testing integration and lifecycle management of ITS devices within GDOTs Qualified Products List (QPL48).

The role will serve as a key liaison between GDOT technology vendors system integrators and AECOM teams to ensure ITS technologies meet technical requirements and support reliable operation of Georgias transportation management system.

The job responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the end-to-end QPL48 product application technical review testing approval and lifecycle management process.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors and provide guidance on QPL48 submission requirements technical specifications testing and approval processes.
  • Coordinate New Product Evaluations (NPEs) with GDOTs Office of Materials and Testing (OMAT).
  • Review vendor submittals technical specifications compliance matrices test results certifications and supporting documentation for compliance with GDOT requirements.
  • Evaluate emerging ITS technologies including LiDAR radar video detection and other transportation technology systems.
  • Lead field installation testing validation and integration of ITS devices with GDOTs NaviGAtor Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS).
  • Coordinate with vendors GDOT staff and system integrators to troubleshoot device configuration communications data integrity and system integration issues.
  • Analyze and validate device performance using measures such as speed volume occupancy reliability and data availability.
  • Lead multi-vendor technology evaluations at GDOT testbed facilities and provide technical recommendations to support technology selection and future deployments.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and performance reporting using tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
  • Maintain accurate QPL48 documentation product listings technical records and program status reporting.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to assigned technical staff including mentoring workload coordination resource planning and professional development.
  • Support program financial management including forecasting budgeting invoicing resource planning and contract performance tracking.
  • Prepare and present technical and program updates to GDOT AECOM leadership vendors and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve technical evaluations data quality program processes and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in relevant industry and professional organizations and maintain awareness of emerging ITS technologies and industry practices.

Performance Expectations

  • Acknowledge vendor QPL48 applications within 24 hours with a target compliance rate of 95%.
  • Complete the initial technical review of complete applications within two weeks with a target compliance rate of 90%.
  • Manage operationally validated devices through the established 45-day field evaluation period with a target compliance rate of 90%.
  • Maintain accurate timely and traceable program documentation product listings and status reporting.

Qualifications :

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in Civil Engineering Electrical Engineering System Engineering or related field 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • 4 years of professional experience in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) quality assurance/quality control device testing and evaluation or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing technical specifications product documentation test results or compliance requirements
  • Proven experience coordinating technical activities involving multiple stakeholders vendors or system integrators
  • Valid US Drivers License and as a condition of employment must pass the AECOM Motor Vehicle screening
  • As a condition of employment candidates must pass a drug screening
  • As a condition of employment candidates must pass a medical screening

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree in Civil Engineering Electrical Engineering System Engineering or related field
  • Experience supporting GDOT or another state Department of Transportation
  • Knowledge of ITS field devices detection technologies communications and ATMS environments
  • Experience with ITS product qualification acceptance testing system integration or New Product Evaluations
  • Experience with NaviGAtor or a comparable ATMS platform
  • Experience with Power BI Tableau SharePoint or similar tools
  • Demonstrated technical leadership project coordination and communication skills
