Dispatch and coordinate drivers for daily pickup and delivery routes.
Monitor vehicle locations and route progress throughout the day utilizing our Samsara GPS Fleet Tracking platform.
Communicate with drivers regarding route changes delays and customer requirements.
Maintain accurate dispatch records and daily activity logs.
Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules and repairs.
Assist with driver scheduling and timekeeping.
Respond to customer inquiries regarding deliveries and service status.
Ensure compliance with company policies and transportation regulations.
Track and report key operational metrics and delivery performance.
Work closely with management to improve route efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Occasional after-hours phone support as needed
Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 2 years of cartage / truck transport dispatching experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel Outlook Word).
Ability to work independently and make quick decisions.
Experience with routing GPS tracking or transportation management systems.
Knowledge of the Baltimore-Washington-Northern Virginia corridor.
Prior experience working with delivery fleets.
