Transportation Manager

Position Purpose: 

Veolia is seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to oversee daily transportation operations for our Medical Waste Division in Middleton MA. This position is responsible for managing drivers dispatching route planning fleet utilization and ensuring safe efficient and compliant transportation services.

The Transportation Manager will focus on operational efficiency employee accountability customer satisfaction and compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Supervise and manage daily driver and dispatch operations.
• Coordinate routes schedules staffing and service coverage.
• Ensure DOT compliance driver qualifications and safety standards.
• Monitor fleet availability maintenance inspections and repairs.
• Improve route efficiency reduce overtime and control transportation costs.
• Address service delays missed pickups and customer concerns.
• Conduct driver training coaching performance evaluations and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with plant operations to ensure timely waste collection and processing.
• Maintain accurate transportation records manifests and operational reports.
• Promote a strong safety culture and continuous operational improvement.

Qualifications :

Education/Experience/Background: 

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation logistics or fleet operations.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Experience managing commercial drivers dispatch operations and route scheduling.
• Experience in waste management medical waste environmental services or a similar regulated industry preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

• Working knowledge of DOT regulations driver qualification files and commercial vehicle safety.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations commercial vehicle operations route optimization and waste transportation is strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership organizational problem-solving and communication skills are essential.

Additional Information :

Pay Range: $73025 to $109595 per year
