As a Transit Bus Operator also known at LYNX as a Bus Operator B you will receive paid training to prepare for a career operating public transit vehicles throughout Central Florida. No CDL is required to apply. All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of : Applications are reviewed as received and only those applicants who fully meet the established qualifications will be contacted by HR to participate in the screening Summary:Under minimal supervision Bus Operator Bs transport passengers by operating public transit vehicles on regularly scheduled links connecting with fixed-route and rail services and perform on-demand passenger pick-ups and drop-offs while observing all federal state and municipal traffic laws observing all safety rules and strictly adhering to time position is considered safety-sensitive and subject to the provisions of the Substance Abuse Program Policy for Safety Sensitive Functions:Provides courteous and professional customer vehicle inspections as required. Respectfully provides accurate information to passengers related to the use of LYNX passenger disputes in a courteous wheelchair lift equipment and assists disabled bus stops in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities with dispatch road supervision and emergency vehicles via radio to LYNX work rules policies and all federal state and municipal traffic laws. Observes all safety to assigned routes and time proper fares are collected. Issues slips for fare refunds and issues and collects that appropriate passes are being used by related written reports and documents as customers during emergency accidents or other duties as may be required or Qualifications:Must be 21 years of School diploma or GED possess and maintain a valid Florida drivers license and clean driving successfully pass a DOT drug screen and DOT physical with a one-year DOT card. Must be able to workdays nights Saturdays and any hours Skills and Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge of Florida Traffic knowledge and skills to use a computer and communication customer service to safely operate LYNX revenue and non-revenue to adhere to route schedules while operating in mixed traffic to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in to interact courteously and effectively with the to comply with the attendance requirements of the to read and write legibly in English speak effectively and understand verbal and written to exhibit a professional courteous to work in a diverse communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with those encountered in the course of work using principles of excellent customer Environment and Special Considerations:Current schedule includes working various shifts to include days nights and Saturdays.
