JOB SUMMARY:

Under general direction promote and market transfer services to increase awareness of IRSC degree programs and other colleges/universities. Coordinate and implement informational sessions and workshops for students seeking transfer services. Provide career and transfer advice to students planning to transfer to 4-year institutions. Implement outreach and communication with college/university admissions representatives to facilitate student transfer opportunities. Provide degree program information and referrals to a colleges/universities for continued education when appropriate. Serve as a liaison for academic advisors/coaches regarding transfer information.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Partner with Academic Advisors to support degree completion and facilitate transfer opportunities for students.

  • Promote and build awareness for IRSC Transfer Services and partner schools transfer opportunities.

  • Facilitate interactions to ensure students are engaged with available transfer opportunities including staying at IRSC.

  • Coordinate Transfer Services events to include workshops information sessions State University Systems visits and fairs.

  • Assist students with college/university school applications for admission and scholarships.

  • Compile transfer data for career and continuing education reports.

  • Promote student enrollment retention and completion.

  • Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of successful work experience and/or relevant work experience in higher education.

  • Experience in career counseling and transfer services.

  • Demonstrated strong leadership and motivational skills.

  • Strong commitment to student success.

  • Proven effectiveness in customer service.

  • Excellent verbal written presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Exhibit sound judgment professionalism and discretion in working with students and the general public.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires an ability to sit stand for long periods of time walk bend lift reach up stoop and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines such as copier fax telephone and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
