Transfer job postings are for County of Sacramento employees only.
In order to be qualified for a transfer:
1. You must meet the Minimum Qualifications of the new job.
2. The difference between the top salary steps (the highest pay rate within the range of pay) of your current job class and the job class that you intend to transfer into must be less than 5%.
There are three different transfer types that you may qualify for: interdepartmental transfer interclass transfer and voluntary demotion. These different transfer types are defined as:- Interdepartmental transfer - a transfer in the same class from one County department to another.
- Interclass transfer - a transfer from one job class to a different job addition the difference between the top salary steps (the highest pay rate within the range of pay) of your current job class and the job class that you intend to transfer into must be less than 5%.
- Voluntary demotion - a transfer into a job class that pays less than 95% of your current class salary.
Printing Services Technician is the support level single class in the series. Incumbents in these positions perform the less difficult bindery imaging press and assembly printing services positions in this series operate a variety of printing reproduction and related equipment to provide reproduced documents to County departments and special districts.- Examples of Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of
- Bindery equipment techniques processes and terminology
- Imaging equipment techniques processes and terminology
- Offset printing equipment techniques processes and terminology
- Offset press imaging and bindery machine repair and service maintenance techniques
- Printing supplies such as ink solvents and other related chemicals
- equipment safety and cleaning
- Safely use and store bindery tools and equipment
- Learn new machine operation as equipment is upgraded
- Read and write English at a level necessary for successful job performance
- Follow oral and written directions in work order requests
- Focus and achieve high quality work in a repetitive work situation
- Accomplish multiple tasks while performing work activities
- Move boxes of paper and other supplies
- Employment Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Either: 1. Six months experience in at least two of the following: general bindery production copy systems imaging and/or offset printing
Or: 2. Completion of 15 units from an accredited trade school college or university in the field of Printing Technology including course work in offset printing and/or production digital copy systems.
Note: If the word experience is referenced in the minimum qualifications it means full-time paid experience unless the minimum qualification states that volunteer experience is acceptable. Part-time paid experience may be accumulated and pro-rated to meet the total experience requirements.

Special Requirements
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 80 lbs. and stand for a long duration.
Driver License:
Possess and maintain a valid California Drivers License Class C or higher.

(1) Failure to maintain a valid California Drivers License Class C or higher constitutes cause for termination from the class in accordance with Civil Service Rule 11.4.
