Job Description
Virginia Tech Hampton Roads Agricultural Research and Extension Center is inviting applications for an agricultural station farm and grounds technician located in Virginia Beach Virginia. This individual will aid in maintenance of the gardens research and demonstration areas and general grounds at the Center. The incumbent will assist the grounds and facilities manager with agricultural and landscape maintenance including but not limited to site preparation planting pest management fertilization irrigation mowing and harvest. Must obtain a Virginia Pesticide Applicators License within 150 days of employment start date.
Required Qualifications
Must have a valid drivers license.
Preferred Qualifications
A 2 years minimum landscape horticultural farm greenhouse or nursery experience or Associates degree in Horticulture Turf Agronomy or related field. Experience with agricultural equipment for land preparation irrigation systems and landscape maintenance equipment. Experience operating forklifts to move equipment and supplies.
