Summary

The Trade Compliance Analyst Level 1 willbe responsible forsupportingthe companys Trade Compliance program and working with the companysSr. Managerof Trade Compliance and Legal Department. The candidate will be an integral part of the Trade Compliance teamand willassistthe organization with various areas of trade compliance responsibilities; namely obtaining export licenses from the U.S. Government anddeterminingexemption eligibility.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position supports the Trade Compliance organization by working with various U.S. Government regulations and utilizing published guidance to preparesubmit and track export license submissions. Position will work with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR). This individuals duties focus on:

  • Supporting the preparation of export license/Technical Assistance Agreement (TAA) submissions.
  • Interfacing withvarious internal customers to obtain necessary information to complete the license submissions.
  • Utilizinginternal procedures templates guidelines and checklists to complete tasks.
  • Tracking pending license submissions.
  • Preparing weekly reports on licensing status for use by Company personnel.
  • Maintaining licenses/TAAs by organizing the records and keeping track of timely filing of reports.
  • Assist Sr. Manager with all US Government reporting requirements.
  • Reviewing foreign travel and foreign visitor requests.

To achieve success in this position the candidate mustpossessthe following.

  • Working experience in trade compliance field and familiarity with international trade requirements.
  • Able to interpret governmental requirements and provide guidance to stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and oriented with first-time quality to remain consistent across multiple documents.
  • Proactive ownership and strong organizational skills with an ability to adapt to shifting priorities and work independently.
  • An analytical mannerwith the ability tosolve problems.
  • Ability to work collaborateand communicate with all levels of management and/or cross-functional departments.
  • Abilityto take direction or feedback andadjustfor future license submissions.
  • High degree of ethical business conduct and integrity.
  • Strong analytical and research skills related to US Government regulatory requirements.
  • Trainingexperience either in large groups or through virtual means.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and 1-2 years related experience in International Trade field are required.
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Preferred Skills

  • Capable of creating formal business documents
  • Experience with creating and submitting DDTC and BIS Export Licenses and utilization of DECCS and SNAP-R.
  • Auditing experience.
  • A technical background forjurisdictionand classifications in hardware and software
  • Able to work within a team and foster teamwork and trust from both external and internal customers
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a time sensitive environment
  • Strong level of computer skills with MS Office products and ability to be on video for internal and external MS Teams calls

Security Responsibilities

Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials in any form. Shall not divulge any information or afford access to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a subassembly shop final assembly labs and customer sites. All areas are climate controlled however there are times when individuals will need to work outside in the elements.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to work for long periods of time standing stooping and bending and also lifting up to forty (40) to fifty (50) pounds with no limitations/restrictions.
  • Must be able to climb and work from ladders.
