Duties
  • Operates tractors equipped with specialized attachments to perform aeration topdressing overseeding and deep-tining across greens tees fairways and roughs without damaging the manicured surface.
  • Conducts daily safety and mechanical checks (including fluids tire pressure belts and grease points) and reports mechanical issues immediately to the equipment manager to prevent costly field breakdowns.
  • Safely operates heavy machinery on uneven terrain steep slopes and near water hazards ensuring strict adherence to OSHA guidelines and course-specific safety protocols to prevent rollovers.
  • Properly hooks up calibrates and adjusts various implements (such as spreaders sprayers and utility trailers) to ensure accurate application rates of seed sand or fertilizer.
  • Assists the maintenance team by hauling soil gravel debris and green waste across the property utilizing utility trailers while minimizing soil compaction along designated haul routes.

  • Rotating hours must be able to work weekend and holidays
  • Operator is usually exposed to long periods of hot sun dust and bad weather
  • Applicant must be physically capable of lifting supplies and materials up to 100 pounds
  • Subject to satisfactory condition of all per-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3 para.2.
  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities
  • May be required to obtain a Government motor vehicle operators permit
  • A physical and Health assessment are required
Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
1. Applicant must have one year related experience in operating and performing minor maintenance on a field-type tractor and associated equipment.
2. Applicants must have and retain valid drivers license.
3. May be required to obtain a Government motor vehicle operators permit

Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time regular part-time and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances cost of living (COLA) and differentials will not be paid contingent upon eligibility.
