Will you help us design the next generation of revolutionary Apple products The Sensing Product Design team is looking for a talented mechanical engineer to develop great experiences and bring Apple products to life. We are the team developing many of the sensors that changed the way people interact with their technology. Touch redefined the phone and tablet Touch ID seamlessly secured them and the heart rate monitor let you keep tabs on yourself.

You will own the end-to-end design development and validation of sensing technology into Apples portfolio of products. You will work with a talented multifunctional team to generate design concepts and as the mechanical expert you will be responsible for engineering analysis and documentation for your piece of the project: n- Identifying design tradeoffs and risks to choose viable paths forward. n- Applying good experiment design and the scientific method to reduce design risk early. n- Running tolerance studies to ensure designs are feasible over manufacturing tolerances. n- Driving processes to meet Apples high cosmetic standards. nnExperience with high volume mass production or consumer electronics are a the prototyping and validation phases you will support external manufacturing vendors with process development and root cause analysis for issues found during testing. Support for our vendors includes international travel between 10% and 20%. Mechanical design development in 3D u0026 2DnCreate specifications detailed design and 2D documentation of parts and assembliesnElectrical component and module integrationnBuilding proof of concept and prototypes testing and analysisnCollaborating with cross-functional partners to understand and execute on critical integration performance and reliability requirementsnPartnering with external vendors u0026 internal manufacturing teams to optimize designs for function manufacturability and cosmeticsnEnsuring designs meet requirements throughout their lifecycles by performing stress tolerance and failure analysesnAnalyze data generated from builds and design of tolerance analyses to predict performance of mechanisms sensors and cosmetic.

Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including properties of materials solid mechanics beam statics Newtonian physics and thermodynamics.n3D CAD experience is written and verbal communication skills and ability to craft clear engineering to effectively collaborate with diverse team members and external vendors to achieve project requirement of a bachelors degree

High volume consumer electronics or sensing experience is a NX CAD fluencynHigh volume / mass production development experiencenFEA modeling experience with any major CAD software systemnHands on experience with 3D Printers CNC Mills Lathes and / or other hand fabrication methodsnExperience in the areas of: GDu0026T Tolerance Analysis Statistical Analysis and Design of ExperimentsnBS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience.
