Job Summary

Job Title: Tooling Technician
Job Duration: 06 months
Est. Pay Range: $30-$32/hr
Work Type: Onsite(Kinston NC)

Description:

Required Experience

Dismantles moves assembles installs and repairs industrial machinery and equipment according to layout plans blueprints drawings or verbal instructions.
Dismantles equipment and machines using hammers wrenches crowbars and other hand tools.
Moves machinery and equipment using hoist dollies rollers and trucks.
Assembles and installs equipment such as conveyors and tram rails using hand and power tools.
Constructs foundations; aligns machines; performs scheduled inspection and maintenance.
Sets up and operates machine tools and fabrication machinery to rework or make new parts.
Perform root/cause analysis in support reliability processes and collaborate with vendors engineering team leader customer other crafts and management to solve equipment problems and develop corrective action.
Rework and maintain tools of all types and materials.
Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of their daily work duties (e.g. replacing machine filters changing standard light bulbs on machines and equipment maintaining lubrication/coolant levels etc. as related to basic tool preventative maintenance duties).
Repairing and building lay-up tools.
Location & Role: Airbus facility in Kinston NC maintains repairs and calibrates precision jigs molds and fixtures for A350 aerostructures.

Qualifications:

3 years of aerospace tooling or precision machining experience; proficiency with laser trackers GD&T blueprints overhead gantry cranes and hydraulic systems; High School diploma or technical degree; US person status (ITAR compliance).

Knowledge of station safety quality (clean as you go / Foreign Object Debris) and OSHA regulations
Must have basic skills of using a variety of tools
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to articulate complex issues to others.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters is essential.
Demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal skills.

Preferred
Technical Systems Proficiency:
Able to enter generate and retrieve information using a computer (SAP and Excel knowledge required)

High School Diploma/GED or WorkKeys Assessment completion
The ability to successfully complete the following training provided by Airbus after recruitment:
Health & Safety
General aircraft familiarization
Quality Training

Preferred
Training from a vocational school or previous employer in the use of dismantling moving installing and repairing industrial machinery and equipment.
