Tool Room Machinist | 1st shift

• Manufacture new tooling die components and replacement parts from blueprints sketches specifications or existing samples.

• Repair and restore worn or damaged tooling dies and components to original specifications.

• Operate machine shop equipment including lathes mills grinders drill presses and other precision machining equipment.

• Inspect and verify parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with dimensional and quality requirements.

• Assist with die teardown troubleshooting repair assembly and maintenance activities.

• Establish and adjust work methods and priorities to meet production schedules and operational needs.

• Maintain accurate die maintenance records and related documentation.

• Develop recommend and implement improvements to production methods tooling performance equipment reliability and product quality.

• Support production requirements while maintaining safety quality and productivity standards.

• Train mentor and assist team members as needed.

• Maintain regular and reliable attendance including working overtime as to support business needs. Employees are expected to report to work on time and be prepared to begin work at the start of each scheduled shift.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Journeyman Machinist certification accredited machinist training or equivalent experience.

• Minimum 5 years of machining and tool room experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

• Ability to use precision measuring instruments and machine shop equipment.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

• Stamping die experience.

• Progressive die maintenance and repair experience

• Experience in a manufacturing or metal stamping environment.

• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing and walking throughout shift.

• Frequent handling of tools dies and machine components.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally with assistance.

• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing and tool room environment with exposure to:

• Moving machinery and mechanical equipment

• Noise requiring hearing protection

• Heat humidity and varying temperatures

• Forklift traffic

• Oils coolants and metalworking materials
