CERTIFICATED PERSONNELNo. 3.1JOB DESCRIPTIONCLASSROOM TEACHERSALARY CLASSIFICATIONTeacherDEPARTMENTInstructionCONTROL/ASSIGNMENTThe Classroom Teacher is assigned to a school and is responsible to the site administrator to teach one or more classes in an assigned grade level/ the direction of the site administrator the classroom teacher is responsible to assess and evaluate pupils level of maturity and degree of competency in subjects taught in an assigned grade level. The Classroom Teacher shall provide leadership for development and improvement of curriculum in light of individual pupil consultation with the site administrator the Classroom Teacher shall set educational objectives relative to pupil progress and shall periodically re-evaluate objectives as to their value for the students. The Teacher shall report to the site administrator or his/her designee the amount of pupil progress at the end of each grading period as related to established goals and objectives as set at the beginning of the school maintain proper control and a suitable learning environment using disciplinary procedures that are appropriate for the age of the demonstrate knowledge of subject matter by applying it in practical teaching present content and skills in subject area(s) utilizing a course of student adopted by the Board and such other learning activities as the teacher deems appropriateXShall promote pupil awareness of citizenship basic communication skills and other general elements of the course of study common to all teachers as specified in State law and administrative regulations and procedures of the provide planned learning experiences designed to motivate pupils and best utilize time available for PERSONNELNo. 3.1JOB DESCRIPTION: CLASSROOM TEACHERPage 2XShall provide individual and small group instruction adapting the curriculum to the needs of individuals and remedial programs when class size and make-up facilities materials and time perform basic attendance accounting and inventory evaluate each pupils progress and prepare progress reportsXShall consult with the site administrator or his/her designee to mutually develop the criteria under the Stull Bill Objective Guidelines in conformance with the Districts guidelines for evaluation and assessmentsXShall be on time for the teaching day and meetings with necessary reports and recordsXShall plan and coordinate the work of aides and other paraprofessionals associated with the teaching assignmentXShall supervise pupils as assigned by the principal for out-of-classroom activities (yard duty bus duty etc.) during the assigned duty dayXShall demonstrate a professional attitude by:-Participating in leadership and/or supportive responsibilities for improvement of profession-Working cooperatively with other district personnel-Being cooperative and tactful with parents and community representatives-Maintaining professional competence through self-selected professional growth activities (inservice extension classes summer school travel etc.)-Recognizing the worth of the individual (pupil layman general public) regardless of race color or creed-Maintaining confidentiality of students progress behavior grades problems and backgroundXPerform other tasks/duties as assigned in accordance with District State Federal policies regulations and/or PERSONNELNo. 3.1JOB DESCRIPTION: CLASSROOM TEACHERPage 3SPECIAL RESTRICTIONSTitle I/EIA Teacher: May only perform above tasks with or in connection with identified Title I/EIA students.
