The Tissue Tech is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction in the most cost effective manner and in a manner consistent with all patient-related age-specific competencies. Under the direction of the Laboratory Medical Director and Laboratory Manager this position is assigned the responsibility of various duties not limited to the receipt handling processing cutting staining and presentation of tissue and slides to the Pathologist for diagnostic evaluation. All employees are expected to perform their duties in alignment with the vision and values of the organization..
- Two years experience in the methods and procedures for fixing and processing tissue specimens with use of routine and special stains in a pathology or an acutecare facility setting.
- High School diploma or equivalency.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
