Tile Installer Apprentice

Jack Laurie Group is seeking hardworking dependable individuals who want to learn a skilled trade and build a long-term career in the construction industry. As a Tile Installer Apprentice you will work alongside experienced installers learning the techniques tools and craftsmanship required to install commercial tile flooring and wall systems.

This position is ideal for candidates with construction flooring remodeling or general labor experience who are eager to learn and grow.

• Ceramic tile installation
  
• Porcelain tile installation
  
• Quarry tile installation
  
• Floor and wall tile applications
  
• Surface preparation and waterproofing systems
  
• Tile layout and pattern installation
  
• Grouting and finishing techniques
  
• Safe operation of tile tools and equipment
  

• Assist experienced tile installers on commercial construction projects
  
• Prepare floors and walls for tile installation
  
• Mix mortar grout and other installation materials
  
• Measure cut and stage tile materials
  
• Maintain tools equipment and job site cleanliness
  
• Learn proper installation techniques and industry best practices
  
• Follow all company and job site safety requirements
  
• Work with team members to complete projects on schedule
  
• Travel to project locations throughout Indiana as needed
  

• Construction flooring remodeling or labor experience preferred but not required
  
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  
• Reliable transportation
  
• Valid drivers license preferred
  
• Ability to work effectively on a team
  
• Basic math and measurement skills
  
• Dependable attendance and positive attitude
  
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments
  

• Position is based in the Greater Indianapolis area
  
• Regular travel throughout Indiana is required
  
• Occasional overnight travel may be necessary depending on project location
  
• Hotel accommodations and per diem provided when applicable
  

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
  
• Ability to kneel bend crouch and work on hands and knees for extended periods
  
• Ability to stand and move throughout the workday
  
• Ability to work in active construction environments and varying conditions
  
• Safely operate hand and power tools
  

• Starting pay of $18.00 per hour
