Tier 2 System Administrator

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a System Administrator 2 to work on the Contractor Site in Annapolis Junction MD. This position will work with the Remote Operations Team on the GREENWAY GES contract. This is an overnight position reporting Wed - Sun 10pm-6am.


Responsibilities:
System Administration & Maintenance
Monitor manage and maintain servers operating systems and key applications.
Apply patches updates and configuration changes to systems in accordance with change management procedures.
Perform routine system health checks capacity planning and performance tuning.

User Support & Troubleshooting
Provide advanced technical support for escalated issues from help desk/Tier 1 teams.
Diagnose and resolve system application and network-related problems.
Assist with user account management permissions and access controls.

Implementation & Configuration
Install configure and deploy new systems applications and tools.
Assist in system upgrades migrations and integrations.
Document system configurations procedures and standards.

Security & Compliance
Ensure systems adhere to security best practices and organizational policies.
Help implement and monitor security controls such as antivirus endpoint protection firewalls and access management.
Participate in audits risk assessments and remediation activities.

Monitoring & Reporting
Use monitoring tools to track system performance availability and capacity.
Respond to alerts incidents and outages performing root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Prepare reports on system health incidents and improvements for management.

Collaboration & Process Improvement
Collaborate with IT teams (network security applications help desk) on cross-functional initiatives and projects.
Contribute to the development and refinement of IT processes standards and documentation.
Provide input on technology selection and system architecture improvements.

Qualifications:
TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
HS or GED with 15 years experience OR Bachelors with 10 years experience

CompTIA A CE

Pay Range:
