About the Facility: Washington DC VA Medical Center (DCVAMC)
The Washington DC VA Medical Center is a full-service tertiary care facility providing comprehensive medical surgical mental health and specialty care services to veterans in the nations capital region. The Radiation Oncology department is accredited through the National Radiation Oncology Program (NROP) and features a Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator with advanced capabilities including 3D-CRT IMRT IGRT and SBRT.
The DCVAMC campus is located in the Petworth/Brightwood area of Northwest DC with excellent access to Metro major highways and all that the capital region has to offer.

Therapeutic Radiation Technologist RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to)
- Deliver prescribed therapeutic radiation for cancer treatments using the Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator
- Perform 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy (3D-CRT) IMRT IGRT and SBRT procedures
- Perform CT treatment planning scans for treatment planning and tumor localization
- Prepare and customize patient immobilization devices
- Maintain patient records using ARIA electronic medical record system
- Adhere to NRC regulations and radiation safety guidelines
- Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities
Qualifications
- Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited program in Therapeutic Radiologic Technology
- ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of experience with radiation oncology treatment machines (Varian preferred)
- Experience in 3D-CRT IMRT IGRT and SBRT
- Proficiency with radiation oncology EMR (Varian ARIA preferred)
- Unrestricted U.S. license to practice Radiation Therapy

- Full-time on-site at the Washington DC VAMC
- Monday Friday 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
- Federal holidays observed
