Job Description

Summary

The Tester (Test Operator) performs functional electrical mechanical and environmental testing of assemblies subassemblies and finished products to verify compliance with engineering specifications customer requirements and quality standards. The position is responsible for operating test equipment documenting test results identifying nonconformances and supporting production objectives while maintaining compliance with safety quality and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform production testing of electronic electro-mechanical and mechanical products in accordance with approved work instructions procedures and test specifications.
  • Set up operate and verify test equipment fixtures instrumentation and associated hardware required to perform testing activities.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings specifications travelers work instructions and test procedures.
  • Record test results accurately and completely within applicable systems and documentation.
  • Identify document and report product failures defects or nonconforming conditions.
  • Troubleshoot basic product and equipment issues and communicate findings to supervisors engineering quality or other support personnel.
  • Monitor production test activities to ensure compliance with established quality requirements.
  • Verify calibration status of test equipment prior to use.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records to support customer regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality efficiency safety and cost reduction.
  • Follow ESD FOD and contamination control requirements as applicable.
  • Maintain an organized clean and safe work area.
  • Adhere to all company policies procedures and safety requirements.
  • Assist with training activities and cross-functional support as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical certification vocational training or military electronics training preferred.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of manufacturing electronics testing inspection or related experience preferred.
  • Experience operating test equipment in a production environment preferred.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings specifications schematics and work instructions.
  • Ability to operate a variety of test and measurement equipment.
  • Working knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical testing principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to identify and report discrepancies and nonconforming conditions.
  • Basic computer skills including data entry and use of manufacturing systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
