This position performs inspection testing troubleshooting maintenance and commissioning activities on electrical power distribution equipment in commercial industrial utility and mission-critical environments. The Test Technician II is expected to perform routine testing and maintenance activities with limited supervision while supporting project execution safety compliance documentation and customer service objectives. NETA certification is not required; however candidates should possess the technical knowledge field experience and testing capabilities consistent with an intermediate-level electrical testing technician. Responsibilities Essential Functions
Perform acceptance maintenance and troubleshooting testing of electrical power distribution equipment.
Inspect test maintain troubleshoot and document work on:
Low- and medium-voltage switchgear
Circuit breakers
Protective relays
Power and distribution transformers
Motor control centers
Automatic transfer switches
Power cables
Batteries and battery systems
Grounding systems
Metering and control equipment
Execute electrical tests in accordance with company procedures manufacturer recommendations and applicable industry standards.
Set up operate and maintain electrical test equipment safely and accurately.
Analyze test results and identify abnormal conditions requiring corrective action.
Troubleshoot electrical equipment and systems to identify operational deficiencies.
Maintain compliance with OSHA NFPA 70E lockout/tagout and customer-specific safety requirements.
Prepare field reports test documentation and equipment records with accuracy and attention to detail.
Communicate findings recommendations and project status to supervisors project managers and customers.
Support emergency response outage work after-hours work and scheduled shutdowns as required.
Mentor and assist entry-level technicians and field assistants.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 25 years of experience in electrical testing field service commissioning industrial maintenance electrical construction utility operations military electrical systems or related power systems work.
Working knowledge of electrical theory AC/DC systems and power distribution equipment.
Experience performing testing inspection troubleshooting or maintenance on electrical power equipment.
Ability to read and interpret:

Equipment manuals
Technical specifications
Knowledge of electrical safe work practices including:
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
OSHA requirements
NFPA 70E
Arc-flash and shock protection principles

Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook Word Excel and electronic reporting systems.
Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to travel up to 60% based on project requirements.
