About the Connecticut Airport Authority:

The Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA) was established in 2011 to develop improve and operate Bradley International Airport and the states five general aviation airports (Danielson Groton-New London Hartford-Brainard Waterbury-Oxford and Windham). The CAA Board consists of 11 members with a broad spectrum of experience in aviation-related and other industries as well as government. The goal of the CAA is to make Connecticuts airports more attractive to new airlines bring in new routes and support Connecticuts overall economic development and growth strategy. CAA Administrative offices are located at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks CT

SUMMARY: As a member of the Connecticut Airport Authoritys Customer Experience and Terminal Services team the Terminal Services Coordinator assists with the direction of terminal operations at Bradley International Airport. These activities include but are not limited to the inspection of the Airport terminal and property monitoring passenger activity and coordinating and organizing all functions and responsibilities associated with terminal operations. Works on an interdepartmental basis with managers and staff to assist in the achievement of established organizational goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

Assists and coordinates the day-to-day terminal operational activities at Bradley International Airport.

Perform inspections of business partner operations to ensure compliance with contractual and operational requirements.

Assists with passenger flow and queue management associated with the security checkpoint operation.

Develop and nurture positive working relationships across all business partners and maintain effective communication.

Responsible for providing customer service excellence through daily operational monitoring and issue resolution.

Coordinate and actively engage in customer-facing events.

Assists with the coordination and responsibilities associated with the CAAs Title VI Program ADA Program and ACDBE Program.

Assists with the coordination and responsibilities of the BDL Art and Music programs.

Ensures preparedness of airport to respond to emergency situations.

Assist in monitoring passenger activity general appearance cleanliness and functionality of airport facilities.

Prepare reports spreadsheets and correspondence related to terminal operations and customer service.

Recommend and undertake initiatives for operational and customer service improvements and efficiencies.

Support and facilitate third party contractors and service providers.

Performs related duties as may be required to successfully foster the activities of the CAA and to contribute to its overall success.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job satisfactorily an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and independently. The requirements listed are representative but not necessarily all-inclusive of the knowledge skills and/or ability required:

Considerable interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with and coordinate with airport partners including airlines consultants and contractors tenants lessees businesses state federal regional and local official and other departments within the CAA.

Knowledge of relevant State and Federal laws statutes and regulations.

Considerable planning and project managements skills.

Considerable knowledge of and ability to apply management principles and techniques.

Excellent oral and written communication skills able to work well with others.

Ability to multi-task effectively and work in a fast-paced environment.

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Exceptional customer service skills.

Ability to assume responsibilities in the absence of the departments Senior Manager.

An individual serving in this position must be able to successfully undergo a thorough background and security screening including pre-employment drug testing being fingerprinted and to maintain required security clearance during the duration of employment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Aviation Business Hospitality Transportation or related field preferred.

Three (3) years of related work experience in an airport setting or similar environment having experience in airport operations customer service or airline operations required.

Considerable knowledge of the practices and techniques used in passenger and airline facilitation processing and support systems customer service airport and airline operations and irregular operations at an airport.

Knowledge and experience in ADA Title VI and/or ACDBE program administration and compliance preferred.

Work schedule may include nights early mornings weekends and holidays. Subject to emergency calls back to work 24/7/365. Work hours may vary as needed to meet operational requirements.

Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled airport environment but may occasionally require work subject to outside environmental conditions including extreme hot and cold weather noise and physical hazards.
