LOCATION: Pasco High School

SCHEDULE: 8.0/day Monday - Friday

180 day work year

SALARY: $25.50 - $26.20

With Bachelors Degree: $26.15 - $26.85

QUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED: (Qualifications which are essential to the position)

• High School Diploma or equivilent.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new computer programs as needed
• Previous successful experience interacting with teenagers
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Ability to operate camera equipment for badges
• Ability to operate and program cameras for campus monitoring inside and outside
• Ability to work well with high school students
• Good communication skills and ability to maintain accurate records
• Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff students and patrons
• Demonstrated exemplary customer service and responsiveness
• Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures
• Ability to establish and maintain professional cooperative working relationships
• Demonstrated punctuality and an excellent work attendance record
• Must work within designated bounds of authority and confidentiality
• Ability to follow supervisory directions and employ personal initiative when necessary
• Willingness/ability to do clerical/office tasks
• Valid Washington State Drivers License and complete 5 year driving abstract (available fromDepartment of Licensing)

QUALIFICATIONSDESIRED: (Qualifications which are not required but would be useful to the position)

• Experience/training in security procedures and search and seizure laws
• Interest/training/experience in counseling and guidance
• Bilingual/Biliterate English/Spanish

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Assist administrators in maintaining campus security including cafeteria hallways and parking lots
• Operate camera and computer equipment required to take student photos and produce ID badgesand maintain appropriate records for same
• Maintain inventory of supplies for badging process
• Supervise students in time out room and after-school detention as required
• Monitor cameras during high activity periods
• Supervise and maintain order in and about school property including restrooms parking lots hallwaysand areas on and near campus where students congregate
• Maintain visibility and be immediately available for assisting staff and students in routine andemergency situations
• Assist in disciplinary actions as requested and/or required
• Investigate all reported law violations and complete written incident reports as may be appropriate
• Confront intruders and report all observed violations (trespassers truants and law violators) toappropriate administrator
• Work cooperatively with other security officers and the Pasco Police Student Resource Officer inmaintaining a safe orderly environment for all
• Conduct student mediations and interventions as needed
• Assist in supervising and maintaining order at after-school activities dances and athletic eventsas assigned
• Model appropriate and healthy adult behavior toward students staff and parents
• Nurture and give attention to students with special needs
• Work effectively within a context with multicultural and at-risk students
• Support the buildings extra-curricular program
• Perform all other related duties as may be appropriately assigned
