Job Summary
The Facilities Student Worker will provide temporary support to the Facilities team with a campus-wide building space inventory project as well as related facilities administrative and office tasks. Under the direction of the Director of Operations Director of Facilities Design & Construction or their designee the student worker will assist with gathering documenting and organizing information about campus buildings and spaces. This is a 100% in-person position. The student worker will be expected to walk independently throughout campus and enter various buildings and spaces as needed to complete assigned inventory activities. Additional facilities-related duties may be assigned based on project needs. This is a limited term position.
- Assist with a campus-wide inventory of building spaces and facilities.
- Walk independently throughout campus to visit assigned buildings and spaces.
- Gather and record information about building spaces accurately and consistently.
- Assist with organizing reviewing and maintaining inventory information and related records.
- Perform general office administrative and facilities-related tasks as assigned.
- Assist with facilities projects and other operational activities as directed.
- Communicate questions observations or issues to the appropriate Facilities staff member.
- Follow established procedures and instructions while working independently on assigned tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations Director of Facilities Design & Construction or their designee.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled as a student at the institution.
- Ability to work 100% in person and independently navigate campus.
- Ability to walk throughout campus and visit multiple buildings and spaces during the workday.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately collect and record information.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete assigned tasks independently.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office or similar applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with members of the Facilities team and campus community.
- Dependable responsible and able to maintain a professional approach to assigned work.
- Prior facilities administrative inventory or office experience is helpful but not required.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- Ability to walk throughout campus and travel between multiple buildings during the workday.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while conducting building and space inventories.
- Ability to navigate a variety of campus environments including office spaces common areas hallways and other building spaces.
- May occasionally encounter stairs uneven surfaces varying temperatures noise dust or other conditions typical of campus facilities and building environments.
- Ability to work safely and follow applicable campus safety procedures while visiting and documenting building spaces.
- Work may involve a combination of walking standing and desk-based computer or administrative tasks.
