Job Summary

Position Summary

The Volunteer & Elder Experience Coordinator coordinates and supports volunteers across GenPride while helping ensure LGBTQ older adults have welcoming meaningful and affirming experiences within the organization. They coordinate volunteers center operations and the logistics that support programs and services in the GenPride Center online and throughout Seattle and King County.

Grounded in a queer intersectional and age equity lens this role builds community capacity by supporting and coordinating LGBTQ older adults and volunteers to largely plan lead and sustain programs and activities.

This .75 FTE non-exempt position is based primarily at the GenPride Center. The GenPride Center is located in Capital Hill neighborhood and is an active community center environment where interruptions conversations and fluctuating noise levels are a regular part of daily operations. Our work includes evenings weekends holidays and activities that extend beyond traditional business hours.


About GenPride

GenPride was built by and for a generation of LGBTQ people who figured life out together. We learned how to create community where none existed advocate for their rights care for one another and navigate systems that were unwelcoming actively hostile or simply absent.


This generation of LGBTQ people now age 50 and older didnt wait for the world to be ready. We organized built advocated and cared for one another. Today this first out generation is once again in uncharted territory as we grow older in systems that were not designed with us in mind.


The generational qualities of LGBTQ elders getting shit done taking risks challenging norms and being determined and resourceful are foundational to GenPrides culture.


Our work is grounded in a queer intersectional and power-building approach to aging. We center LGBTQ elder leadership and are committed to increasing belonging safety joy and power for LGBTQ older adults.


The Volunteer & Elder Experience Coordinator reflects this spirit and these commitments in their efforts to support LGBTQ older adults live with safety belonging purpose and joy.


Primary Responsibilities


Volunteer Engagement & Coordination (45%)

  • Coordinate volunteer communications records and schedules.


Center Operations & Program Coordination (40%)

  • Coordinate day-to-day operations of the GenPride Center.
  • Coordinate logistics for programs services and events in the Center online and throughout the community including room reservations supplies volunteers and event setup.
  • Ensure spaces are prepared welcoming accessible and ready for activities.


Administrative Coordination (10%)

  • Maintain volunteer records program calendars attendance and Salesforce data.
  • Coordinate program registration communications and administrative logistics
  • Assist with reporting and other administrative projects as assigned.


Organizational Leadership & Culture (5%)

  • Contribute to a mission-focused inclusive and community-centered organizational culture.
  • Apply a queer intersectional and power-building lens to all work.
  • Center LGBTQ elder leadership and experiences in communications and storytelling.
  • Demonstrate accountability collaboration adaptability and resourcefulness in support of GenPrides mission and community.


Measures of Success

  • Volunteers feel welcomed prepared supported and recognized for their contributions.
  • LGBTQ older adults report feeling welcomed connected respected and encouraged to participate and lead.
  • Volunteer recruitment engagement and retention support GenPrides organizational goals.
  • Programs and community activities increasingly reflect the leadership strengths and diversity of King County LGBTQ older adults.
  • Programs events and Center operations are well coordinated organized and consistently delivered.
  • Administrative records Salesforce data attendance and reporting are accurate current and complete.
  • Contractual departmental and organizational goals are consistently achieved.
