TEGNA is seeking a Temporary Digital Ad Operations Specialist to support local broadcast stations with their digital advertising operations. About the Role:
As a Digital Ad Operations Specialist you will work exclusively with TEGNA properties across various ad-serving platforms and order management systems. Youll help manage CTV (Connected TV) and digital ad campaigns from setup to delivery ensuring they run smoothly and meet performance goals. This position involves troubleshooting campaign optimization and quality assurance making it ideal for individuals with strong technical skills and attention to detail. This role includes being part of an on-call rotation after proper training.
Responsibilities:
- Master the digital workflow between business units and Ad Operations.
- Develop expertise in ad servers and order management systems with an emphasis on CTV campaign execution.
- Set up schedule and manage digital ad campaigns accurately including CTV-specific formats and delivery methods.
- Ensure proper deployment of creative assets by understanding ad specifications templates and ad-tag technologies (VAST/VPAID tags and dynamic ad insertion).
- Provide timely support to broadcast stations and internal stakeholders particularly for CTV ad delivery issues.
- Troubleshoot ad performance concerns and conduct quality assurance (QA) reviews to ensure campaign accuracy and effectiveness.
- Send daily reports communicate technical information clearly and manage service-level agreement (SLA) expectations.
- Monitor shared inboxes consistently and respond to requests in a timely manner.
- Track campaign performance and implement optimization strategies including fill rate management frequency capping and ad podding.
- Ensure campaigns meet rate card requirements and maintain revenue margin standards.
- Collaborate effectively with vendors and stations while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a customer-focused approach.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university/college or a related technical discipline required.
- 5-7 years of experience with ad serving platforms or ad trafficking.
- 5-7 years of practical experience in digital technology or advertising may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Hands-on experience with CTV ad trafficking Server-Side Ad Insertion (SSAI) and VAST/VPAID tags preferred.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to perform effectively in a technical role.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel Outlook and Word.
- Basic knowledge of Flash HTML and JavaScript is a plus.
- Experience with CTV advertising platforms such as FreeWheel Publica or Google Ad Manager (GAM) preferred.

Pay Range
$30 - $50 USD
