Telecommunicator Part Time

The City of Hazelwood is seeking a motivated and professional Part-Time Telecommunicator to serve as a critical communication link between the public and emergency response personnel. This position is responsible for receiving emergency calls dispatching police fire EMS and other emergency services and maintaining accurate records and communications systems.

• Answer and prioritize incoming 911 and non-emergency calls.
• Dispatch police fire EMS and other emergency personnel.
• Monitor radio frequencies and communication systems.
• Operate radios telephones CCTV systems and communication equipment.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Provide information and assistance to visitors and the public.
• Must be available to work flexible schedules including evenings weekends holidays and additional shifts as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum one (1) year dispatcher or telecommunicator experience required.
• Ability to complete the Hazelwood Police Department Field Training Program.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CJIS and REJIS certifications.
• Strong communication multitasking and customer service skills.
• Valid drivers license required.
