Job Summary

Reports To: Director of IMS User Support
Work Schedule/FLSA Status: 12 Month / 261 duty days / Exempt
Salary Schedule: Specialist 3 - Salary grade S04 92C starting at $75902.17. Salary credit may be awarded for applicable experience.
Position Purpose: The Technology Trainer is assigned to work with administrators teachers and staff in approximately one-third of the elementary buildings in the Omaha Public Schools. As a trainer this staff member will be instrumental in working directly with teachers to assist them with instructional delivery using technology training staff on new District-approved applications and troubleshooting basic technology this role the successful candidate will work with building leadership to provide training and workshops that meet staff needs. These may be 1:1 small-group or large-group sessions.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
- Support district technology training initiatives in assigned elementary schools.
- Collaborate with the Technology Training Team on district technology professional development.
- Work collaboratively with schools to train staff members.
- Follow up with training attendees about any questions they may have regarding the training content.
- Conduct technology training via workshops webinars small groups and one-on-one sessions with a focus on elementary schools.
- Develop workshops as requested by principals.
- Create and publish training videos and tutorials for the OPS training team website.
- Market upcoming training opportunities and maintain the online registration system and attendance records.
- Attend ESU-related monthly meetings.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelors degree required.
- 3-5 years of successful training experience in a corporate or education setting.
- Teaching/training experience with adult learners.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft products align with the Districts vision.
- Experience with multiple delivery methods in training adult learners.
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work with adults who have varying technology proficiencies.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
- Experience with application and hardware evaluation.
- Experience creating training materials in multiple formats.
- Knowledge of technology peripherals including interactive boards document cameras projection devices and adapters.
- Knowledge of appropriate use of popular social media platforms: Facebook Twitter YouTube etc.
- Ability to facilitate meetings using various technology resources.
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisory personnel as designated by the Superintendent.
Equipment: This position may require the ability to use basic office equipment such as computers copiers and scanners. Must always comply with OPSs guidelines for equipment use.
Travel: Limited local travel will be required.

Employee Punctuality and Appearance
- To operate effectively schools expect employees to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday unless the employee has received approved leave.
- Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employees supervisor or building administrator.
- All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of Omaha Public Schools and is appropriate for their position.
Terms of Employment:
This position is treated as a classified full-time exempt position. The terms of your employment will be governed by applicable state laws regulating employment in a Nebraska public school and Board of Education policies as those laws and policies may change from time to time. If your position is represented by a collective bargaining representative then your employment will also be governed by a negotiated agreement between OPS and that collective bargaining representative.
The offer of employment is contingent upon:
- Obtaining and providing verification of all licenses certificates and other requirements for your position (e.g. Paraprofessionals obtaining Highly Qualified status etc.) as identified.
- A thorough background check that demonstrates to OPS that the background is acceptable for the position sought and working with or around students.
- Verification of U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (if required for the position offered).
- Successful completion of a tuberculosis skin test (if required for the position offered).
